Soup and Sweet lunch sees money flood in

Sunday’s Strathbogie Drumblade Parish Church Soup and Sweet lunch raised the magnificent sum of £829.98 for the Huntly Flood Appeal.

Between 12.00 and 14.00 several hundred diners enjoyed a wide range of tasty soups and sweets freshly prepared by church volunteers. Organiser Katy Scott was enthusiastic about the results of the hard work of her team: "We are delighted with the generous support of the local community and I am indebted to everyone who helped make the event happen. Due to people's generosity we have no expenses to deduct and all the money raised can go to the Flood Appeal.

The event, held in the town's Stewart's Hall, was the first to be held since the opening of the Huntly Flood Appeal bank account. The proceeds will be added to others collected since the floods on 2nd November and any other money raised in the coming weeks. The fund will be disbursed in due course to help the victims of the floods in The Meadows area of the town.
