Huntly Handbook

Huntly HandbookCopies available at the tourist office and local shops - £2 each.

This handbook has been designed as a shop-window for Huntly, for use by residents, newcomers, holiday makers and relocating businesses.

It offers more than just a glimpse of what is available. It outlines the town's resources and the potential for economic development and prosperity.

This is the first time the entire life of the town has been catalogued. The quantity of information gathered demonstrates a wide range of social and economic activity, much of it possibly unrecognised even by lifetime residents.

This handbook then is an audit of life in Huntly – a one-stop information shop for, business, sport and recreation, the arts, shopping and services.

The picture it paints is of a self contained community – the 'capital' of Strathbogie – with much to offer both new arrivals and residents.

It also portrays a safe and attractive community in which to live and work, surrounded by its necklace of small villages. But the speed and ease of modern communications dictate that Huntly, however attractive, must still pitch its stall in a global market place.

It is well placed to do so; strategically positioned on main road and rail links between international airports at Aberdeen and Inverness. This handbook contains all you need to know about visiting and living in Huntly.

How it came about

This Handbook is a result of a community consultation of Huntly commissioned by Aberdeenshire Towns Partnership (ATP). Entries have been compiled from those businesses and organisations involved in recent surveys.Suggestions for future editions should go to ATP Huntly.
