Leith Hall

Leith Hall and Gardens

Leith HallThe home of the Leith-Hay family begun around 1650 is a fine example of a Scottish landed-family home full of furniture, artwork, china, tapestry and military memorabilia. It gives a rare insight into the lives, loves and tragedies of local lairds, their estate and employees. The exhibition ,'For Crown and Country' follows the Leith-Hay’s unique military history. Restored stables. The walled garden is more a series of mini gardens and compartments within a walled boundary. It covers six acres of lawn and extensive herbaceous borders – including one entirely planted in catmint – and a primula and alpine rock garden.

At the top of the garden is a Chinese Moon Gate opening up spectacular views of the surrounding hills. Woodland trails and carved Pictish stones. A National Trust for Scotland property.
